Owls must do better on the road, says loanee

Carlos Carvalhal’s charges have triumphed just twice in 10 attempts on the road in the Championship this campaign.

Their last victory away from Hillsborough came at neighbours Rotherham United on October 23, and Turner, on a season-long loan deal from Norwich City, is urging his teammates to maintain their attacking philosophy.

He told The Star: “We really need to start winning away from home to kick on, so we will try as hard as we can to turn it around.

“I don’t think there is much we need to change. We were disappointed how we went 2-0 down on Saturday at Cardiff but from an attacking point of view I thought we were a threat throughout the game. If we can maintain that then I’m sure we will turn draws into wins.”

With the Dons third from bottom, centre-back Turner says the pressure is on the Owls to get maximum points and halt a four-match winless run.

“It should be an entertaining game,” said Turner, who has declared he would be interested in joining Wednesday on a permanent basis.

“It will be a difficult one as they are near the bottom of the league so they will be looking to turn the corner in their next game, which is against us.

“I would guess we are favourites. We will treat it like any other game and are confident we will win.”

Carvalhal has confirmed Sam Hutchinson, Kieran Lee and Jack Hunt are available for selection, having shaken off knocks.
