Joe Bennett, Daniel Pudil, Michael Turner, Vincent Sasso, Alex Lopez and Aiden McGeady have all returned to their parent clubs after helping the Owls reach the Championship Play-Off final.

Wednesday have held tentative talks with Pudil’s representatives over the left-back returning to Hillsborough on a permanent basis.

Fellow full-back Bennett has refused to rule out rejoining Carlos Carvalhal’s side, having proven his worth after a difficult start to his temporary Owls stint.

With Turner and McGeady failing to impress, Carvalhal may look elsewhere to bolster his options at centre-back and on the wings.

And it remains to be seen whether Wednesday will attempt to sign Braga defender Sasso and Celta Vigo midfielder Lopez permanently. It is understood the Owls would have to pay sizeable transfer fees for the duo, who struggled for consistency last term.

“We have got a couple of players on loan,” said Hutchinson. “Fingers crossed they will get done and stay here.”
