Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett has called on his side to finish a frustrating campaign on a positive note.

The up-for-sale club, who entertain the Owls tomorrow lunchtime, are languishing in 14th position and have struggled for goals this season.

You have to go back to March 8 for the last time Wolves found the back of the net at Molineux. Indeed, they have fired blanks in all of their last four home fixtures, setting an unwanted club-record.

“It is our last home game and we have had four successive nil nil draws and we want to finish our season with a really good win,” said Jackett, who has added striker Adam Le Fondre to his squad. “We want to put in a really strong performance and show optimism for next season.”

Jackett, who steered led Wolves to promotion in April 2014, is acutely aware of the threat sixth-placed Wednesday will pose.

“Sheffield Wednesday are a big football club,” he said. “They are a good footballing side.

“They look very strong and have got really good players. They signed [Fernando] Forestieri and [Daniel] Pudil from my old side Watford. They have got players like Barry Bannan and Gary Hooper too.

“They are a talented group. It will be interesting in terms of what they do with their team because they have the Play-Offs secured and know they will finish sixth.”
