Czech Republic international Daniel Pudil has today claimed he is set to join Championship promotion hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday.
The 29-year-old has bid a fond farewell to Watford, who he helped gain promotion to the Premier League last season.
Pudil, who can be deployed anywhere on the left hand side, has slipped down in the pecking order at Vicarage Road. He is still waiting to make his first appearance of the 2015/16 season.
Pudil posted on his Instagram account: “I would like to thank all the fans and the players Watford FC for a wonderful three years at this club.
“I was honored to be part of a club. And now begins a new stage, hopefully to a successful end... Sheffield Wednesday... I am happy that I can be in this great club....”
Pudil, who arrived at Watford from Cesena in 2012, made 60 league appearances for the London outfit.
The move has yet to be officially confirmed by Wednesday or Watford.
Pudil is reportedly moving to Hillsborough on a season long-loan deal. Should the switch go through, he will become their 13th summer signing.
Wednesday are also believed to be interested in signing Pudil’s Watford teammate Fernando Forestieri.
