Owls chairman Dejphon Chansiri is backing Jonathan Hill - the latest member of their new management team - to improve the infrastructure at the Championship club.
Hill, a former youth coach at Manchester United and Manchester City, became the fourth person to be added to Wednesday’s sporting director committee last night.
Hill, who most recently worked as first-team coach at Fulham, joins other advisors Glenn Roeder and Paul Senior and the trio will work closely alongside head coach Stuart Gray.
Hill’s arrival comes less than 48 hours after Adam Pearson opted to leave the committee and take up a role at Leeds United.
Chansiri said: “I am delighted to welcome Jonathan. It can never be understated just how important it is that we introduce experienced industry professionals to supplement the innovation of our Sporting Director committee.
“Jonathan has an exceptionally strong skill-set and will undoubtedly enhance the core area of Sheffield Wednesday, which is the football infrastructure.”
Having started his coaching career at Wigan, Hill went on to spend nine years with the Red Devils, helping nurture players such as Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck.
He has also previously had spells with the Jordan Football Association, Norwegian top-flight side Tromso FC and Fulham.
