Head coach Carlos Carvalhal has revealed why defender Tom Lees has played every single match this season, despite his much discussed squad rotation policy.
In the last three matches, Carvalhal, the Owls’ first foreign boss in their 148-year history, has made 22 alterations, including nine changes in Saturday’s dramatic late victory over Brentford.
But former Leeds United player Lees has started all 12 of Wednesday’s matches, forming three different centre half pairings.
Carvalhal told The Star: “Tom [Lees] recovers fantastically between games. After two days, he is ready to play again which is why we are using him. It is unbelievable. His physical capacity is not normal.
“Secondly, he is a player who understands exactly what we want from the defensive part of the team and thirdly he is playing very well.”
But the Portuguese added: “Probably in the future there might come a time when we will leave him out.”
Wednesday have confirmed the ticket prices for next month’s Capital One Cup fourth round meeting with Premier League giants Arsenal.
Adults tickets have been priced at £25 for season ticket and membership holders in all areas of Hillsborough for the tie, which will take place on Tuesday, October 27.
Tickets on general sale have been set between £30-36.
