Joe Mattock says the Owls players feel like a weight has been lifted off their shoulders following back-to-back wins in the Championship.
While the Wednesday full back says the squad remained positive throughout their 11 match winless run, he admits there has been a noticeable difference in mood after the wins over Wigan and Blackburn.
“The lads are looking really good,” Mattock told the Star. “There’s a great boost around the camp. The lads are smiling.
“It feels like a weight has come off the shoulders after the negativity that’s been thrown around.
“The lads are buzzing for it and looking forward to Wolves.”
Mattock insists his team mates remained confident during their winless run and played down the severity of the disappointing patch of form.
He said: “I know people say we had a bad patch but I think there was one loss and more draws than anything.
A lot of the draws were away games.
“You’ve got to take the positives out of that.
“There’s a lot of negativity thrown at you.
“We’ve got a good bunch of lads. The gaffer tells us to take the positives on board.
“We’ve dug deep and it’s paid off.
“We’ve had two wins on the bounce and there’s no reason why we can’t get a third against Wolves.”
