Danny Philliskirk is pleading with Oldham Athletic to let him face Sheffield United tomorrow after recovering from a health scare.
The former Chelsea centre-forward, who spent two years at Bramall Lane before departing in January 2013, has missed Athletic’s last two games after suffering from dizzy spells. But, after medical staff discovered that low blood sugar levels were the cause of the problem, Philliskirk is desperate to play against Nigel Clough’s side.
“I hate missing matches and it is very frustrating sitting at home watching the results come in,” he said. “I’ll be banging on the door to be involved again now.
“(Manager) Dean Holden told me that until the problem is fully sorted, he wouldn’t risk me. If something happened they would feel responsible.”
