Shaw pleads for backing for players lacking confidence

Mark Shaw says his squad are in desperate need of a confidence boost from the terraces this Saturday when Glasshoughton visit.

The Tigers boss has had two training sessions with his youngsters this week, and insists team spirit is soaring.

But individual confidence is a problem, one he needs help to solve.

“This is an opportunity for supporters to encourage the players who are low on confidence,” he said.

“I need a bit of help to boost their confidence and at the minute I’m not getting enough help.”

“Everyone is a confidence player, even Jon Stewart.”

“And this week has been very difficult, trying to lift the players who have felt a bit of heat from some supporters.”

The Worksop players had their Christmas night out last weekend, and according to their manager couldn’t be more together as a group.

He wants that to foster that atmosphere and transfer it to ganes: “Team spirit is through the roof and I want to get that momentum onto the pitch.”
