Worksop Town cut loose in an 8-1 victory over a side who have provided stubborn opposition in the past.

It was the dominance Tigers showed that impressed Shaw most.

He said: “The only way they were going to score was from a worldy or a mistake by us.

“We were so in control, the passing interchanges and delightful play, I can’t fault them.

“It was the best performance of the season.”

In recent games Shaw hasn’t been overly happy with the performances, but has accepted the results, with no defeats in six.

“Today we’ve got the performance and the result,” he said.

“I thought Julian (Lawrence) and Ross (Henshaw) were competitive, won headers, looked assured, ate their strikers up all night and they can also play.

“Steve Woolley produced his best of the season, Cal Harrison continues to improve, Tom Elliott, Alex Nightingale, they were everywhere.

“Boothy has done everything I wanted, held it up, and his first goal was unbelievable.

“(Adam) Wardy’s goal at the start of the second half, you see them in the Premier League.

“It’s by far the best performance of the season and I’m delighted to see the whole group showing what we’re all about.”
