Bassetlaw Boys fell to their first loss of the season last weekend, writes Jack Tarr.

Although they were defeated for the first time during the current campaign, Bassetlaw Boys should not be too disappointed.

Against the City of Sheffield Boys and, in their first game for two months, and on a very small pitch they gave a good show in windy conditions.

They should soon be able to reproduce their form of the first half of the season.

The Sheffield management team was quick to congratulate them and suggest that a draw would have been a fair result.

On Saturday morning they now entertain the City of Leeds Boys at Harworth, looking to bounce back with an immediate response to last weekend’s loss.

The invited squad on this occasion will include: Jacob Reynolds (Prospect Hill); Caden Burton, Billy Simkins (Leverton); Adam Ostler (Gateford Park); James Mallender, Owen Law, Jaden Thackery (St John’s); Charlie Smith (Sir Edmund Hillary); Corrie Cole, Macauley Cole (Ryton Park); Ethan Hibbert (St Anne’s).
