Ryton Park clinch title

Ryton Park boys have duly completed their title challenge for Division Two.

Ryton beat Serlby Park 5-1 as they also became the first team in all divisions to complete their fixtures.

In a week of success they are strong favourites to also win their girls league after the rout of a plucky but physically overwhelmed St John’s Girls.

Jessica Hooley topped the goalscorers list with a personal tally of five while Charlotte Heeley and Maise Willis also got on the scoresheet.

Norbridge got their girls programme under way when Chloe Rose and Olivia Williams shared the goals in a 5-1 defeat of Carlton Ramsden Girls.

Sutton-cum-Lound are still enjoying their return to competitive football and added another 5-1 win to their record over North Wheatley.

Goals came from Tom Hammerslag (2), Connor Sulley, Hannah Taylor and Ben Clark.

But the title is likely to go to Sturton-le-Steeple who cruised to victory over the same opponents when marksmen George Hudson, Dominic Murray, Jake Sykes, Josh Storey and William Elliott displayed their all round strength and depth of talent.

Gamston, reigning Small Schools Champion of Champions, are rebuilding after last season’s very successful campaign.

They recorded their first win of the season when goals from Henry Paterson and Jack Trotter gave them a 2-1 success against Beckingham who replied through Harry Overton.
