Unbeaten Anston Rangers under-7s are having a season to savour in the Sheffield and District Junior League.

They have won 19 of their 20 games, drawing the other, with five fixtures of the season still to play.

And, for one young footballer, the goals have come easy.

William Grainger bagged his 101st goal of the campaign against Ecclesfield Red Rose, continuing his form from pre-season where he scored 14 of his side’s 15 in a summer tournament.

The sharp shooter has scored at least one hat-trick in each 17 of the 20 games and has scored five or more in 11 of those games.

The club and sponsor has presented him with a trophy to mark his achievement and Sheffield Wednesday also appeared to present him with an award for his achievements.

Liam Palmer, of Worksop roots, did the honours.

Owls fan William plays for city rivals Sheffield United’s academy at U8s and has featured this year at U9s level.
