New manager Craig Denton started his Worksop Town revolution with four signings over the weekend - one of them a former Tiger.

Denton also returned to one of his former clubs, Rainworth Miners’ Welfare, for a couple of the signings after the Wrens decided to drop down a level.

Denton’s first capture for the Tigers was experienced centre midfielder/full back Jamie Price, who was at Scarborough Athletic last season.

The manager then brought in former Tiger Connor Brunt, a striker who recently returned from a year in Australia.

He played for Gold Coast FC and Queensland before moving on to Robina City FC, where he scored 10 goals in eight games.

Brunt, 21, has also played more than 100 games in the EvoStik League.

Denton said: “Connor is a player who I have kept in touch with. When he told me he was returning back to the UK I really wanted him to be a part of my plans.”

Two players who were with Denton at Rainworth last season then put pen to paper for Worksop — winger Thomas Poole, 26, and midfielder Ross Goodwin, 22.

Denton said: ‘I’m absolutely over the moon to have had the phone call from both players agreeing to join the Tigers.

“Both are young and hungry to be successful, have tremendous attitudes and will play a huge part in my plans at the club.”
