Over 500 days have passed since MP's proposal for a Worksop Town stadium, but '˜delicacy' over issues preventing public update

It’s over 500 days since the Labour politician held a public meeting to announce proposals for a community stadium in the town, one that could host the world’s fourth oldest football club.

And in December 2015 he promised an update ‘early in the new year.’

But despite the lack of public comment, the Guardian understands a meeting has taken place recently between Mr Mann and a number of Worksop Town’s decision making committee.

It is thought that legal issues arising from the potential site and build details are preventing either party from making a comment at this stage.

Tigers are currently in negotiations with Sandy Lane leaseholder Pete Whitehead to extend their tenancy, and as yet have not confirmed where they will play their home games next season.
