Odds shorten on Giggs for Forest job

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is a rising contender for the vacant Nottingham Forest managerial hot seat according to the latest bookies' odds.

At one stage Giggs was quoted as 33/1 for the job but those odds have now shortened to as little as 1/2.

Giggs is expected to leave Manchester United this summer with his services not required in new boss Jose Mourinho’s first team backroom staff.

Forest have been looking for a replacement for Dougie Freedman all summer and, with Pedro Pereira now in place at director of football, Neil Warnock, Gianfranco Zola and José Miguel González are thought to be possibles in a head coach role.

Giggs looks set to leave Old Trafford after 29 years after being offered a development role with the under-21 side – a major demotion from his current position.
