Freedman has lost Spanish left back Daniel Pinillos for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury and ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Charlton Athletic Freedman said: “I do have a very good player coming in, this weekend, we hope. We will keep looking forward.

“It will not be before Charlton, but it might happen on Sunday or Monday.

“It is a position I feel can give us cover across the back and in wide areas.

“It is a player with experience and we are nearly there.

“We have recruited well in the summer and we hope to do so again.

“We are talking about a player who can play left-back, among other positions.”

He added: “I have a few players coming back from injury, but I do expect to be busy.

“We have some difficult decisions to make over our loan players and some that are not so difficult,” said Freedman, who looks set to allow Kyle Ebecilio to return to Holland and must decide the futures of loanees Liam Trotter and Jonny Williams in the coming days.

“I will be busy in terms of putting out fires, if anything gets talked about (in terms of offers for Forest players).

“But the owner has been fantastic and has told us to guide him through things, if anything happens. We do not have to sell, we are okay financially.

“Fringe players might go and, if they do, we will get replacements in, because it is right for us to freshen things up. I am really happy with what we have got.”
