Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman believes his side are building a winning mentality
First half goals from Nelson Castro Oliveira and Ryan Mendes sealed a 2-1 win over relegation-threatened MK Dons to leave Forest six points off the play-offs.
The visitors had given themselves late hope when Josh Murphy pulled a goal back in the 80th minute.

But Nicky Maynard’s missed penalty a minute before the goal and a couple of excellent saves by Dorus De Vries proved costly for Karl Robinson’s side.
Freedman said: “We dug in deep at the end and the boys deserve great credit. MK Dons had nothing to lose at the end of threw everything at us.
“There were some frustrations coming out of the stands towards the end because the Forest fans are used to winning a certain way.
“We have to understand that sometimes you need to win ugly. We showed the resilience that we needed at the end and we showed what a fine team we are today.

“A winning mentality is developing amongst the fans and the team.
We have got an excellent cutting edge and are looking efficient at the moment. Things are looking positive going forward.
“I am delighted with how devastating we looked in the first 10-15 minutes. We carved them open and missed an easy chance to go three up.
“MK Dons are a possession based team, but I thought that with our possession we really hurt them.”
