Worksop Parramore 2
MALTBY Main’s wretched start to the season continued with a 2-1 defeat at home to near rivals Worksop Parramore.
Main went into the game having lost their opening two games in the NCEL Premier Division but were in good spirits following a 1-0 win over Cheadle Town in the preliminary rounds of the FA Cup.

After a goalless first half, Lee Whittington broke the deadlock soon after the break for the visitors who began to get a foothold on the game.
And midway through the second half, Lee Holmes, who was a thorn in the side of Main throughout the game, doubled Parramore’s advantage after Jamie Smith saw his shot saved.
Main weren’t going to roll over, however, and 10 minutes from time they were awarded a penalty.
Craig Gladwin stepped up to slot the ball past Parramore’s ‘keeper to give the home side hope, but it proved to be just a consolation.
Last Saturday’s result was followed up by Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Thackley FC, Main’s fourth straight defeat in the league.
