Misery in Matlock for Tigers

WORKSOP Town suffered their first league loss since mid October on Saturday, at the hands of Matlock Town.

The Derbyshire side took the lead through a Ross Hannah goal on 21 minutes, after Tigers skipper Michael Simpkins made a mess of his header back to keeper Jon Kennedy.

Try as they might, Worksop were unable to create anything in the way of clear cut chances, despite plenty of second half possession.

Martin McIntosh’s men are in League Cup action at Hucknall Town tomorrow night (7.45pm).
