Hide AdHaving now being given the green light, more than 50,000 tonnes of limestone and sandstone is to be excavated up to five metres below the surface of the two-hectare site before it is levelled and grassed.
Four pitches will be created, and discussions will take place with Mansfield District Council about creating further facilities.
The club’s operations director Tina Broughton said: “The club is moving at a healthy pace off the field, as well as on it, in our aim to make all aspects of our club even better.”
Work will start in the new year.
Residents living opposite the site have expressed concerns over access, especially the narrow access to the lane.
The track is not Tarmacced, only wide enough for one vehicle and peppered with potholes which residents have often filled in themselves.
