Mark Shaw has continued to put his faith in youth, with another new signing for the 2013/14 season.

Jordan Lemon, who was with Shaw at Shirebrook Town last season, will join Worksop Town after the summer.

The 20-year-old is currently in America, with a coaching role, but will return to play for Tigers after pre-season.

Lemon, a full-back or midfielder, is the kind of player Shaw says the club needs to fulfill their new ethos.

“Jordan is an exciting prospect, a player that we had to secure,” he said.

“He is a player that I think can make a serious impact at this level.”

“He is young, quick tough tackling full-back or midfield.”

Lemon was actually spotted by Shaw’s assistant Pete Shuttleworth last season, before the duo brought him from East Midlands Counties Premier Division side Holbrook Sports to Shirebrook.

The Worksop boss insists Lemon handled that move well, and backed him to do the same at Sandy Lane.

“When Jordan got his chance he didn’t disappoint or let us down and probably would of been Player of the Season.”

“Organisation and style of play will come but I feel Jordan Lemon has everything that we need here at Worksop Town.”

“At only 20 years old we still feel he has a lot to learn but feel more than confident he can make the step up into the Evo-stick Premier league level.”

“Shutts and myself have been searching for diamonds in the rough that need a little bit of polishing, Jordan Lemon is one of those players.”
