Kennedy bemoans lack of quality up front after defeat

Goals in each half from Matt Plummer and Jimmy Ghaichem secured the Bulls their victory despite them having Ollie Fearon sent off following a clash with Sam Weston.

Tigers boss Kennedy agreed with the red card decision having seen the incident happen right in front of him, but was disappointed with the overall result.

He said: “It was a definite red card - it was smack in front me and you could see his forearm smash into the back of Sam’s head. He had that anger in his face and luckily the assistant referee saw it as sometimes they don’t.

“We had a good chance in the second-half where Mitch Husbands was unlucky to be booked for diving because I did think it was a penalty. We could have had a couple but we didn’t really have any quality going forward. I suppose you have to take a defeat sometimes.

“We never really got going, I said to the lads after that it was a lethargic game. We’ve got some young lads that should be upbeat and pressuring, but we didn’t really do that. When we did get in areas we didn’t really have any quality.

“It’s a learning curve, they’ve come in and done well, this is just one of those times where they tapered off, so it’s just about getting their mind refocused again.”

“They’re young lads and when everything is going right they don’t learn. So this is a game where we need to learn from it, they’ve come with a little bit of a lax attitude.

“They can control that attitude because you’re going to have bad games and make bad passes but their attitude is what they can control.”
