The first real chance for the visitprs came after patient build up, the ball breaking to Jordan who fired into the side netting.

Worksop’s leading scorer was then denied by a brilliant off the line clearance by a Parkgate defender.

Andy Ofosu chased a ball over the top, the keeper misjudged it leaving Jordan an open net, but as he looked to apply the finish the home player slid in to superbly clear.

Parkgate then had a wonderful chance to take the lead, Oliver Yates beating the offside trap and through one on one with Jon Kennedy.

The Tigers stopper stood tall, as Yates’ shot hit the post.

Another break by the home side saw Ben Thornton get in behind the Worksop defence, but he chose to shoot with a man over and the chance was wasted.

Jordan had another chance from a training ground set piece move.

Tom Elliott played the ball to James Cottingham, he laid off Jordan but his curling effort went just over the bar.

Tigers were struggling to find rhythm, but Ofosu had a couple of chances before half time.

He managed to fashion a chance for himself, twisting in the box before shooting narrowly wide, and then wasted a glorious one on one chance that Ben Brunt saved.

Tigers then did take the lead through their captain Conor Higginson on 41 minutes, curling a magnificent effort from outside the box into the bottom corner of the goal.

It was slightly harsh on the home side who had defended well, but Tigers took the lead into the break.

Ofosu’s constant running in behind was causing problems for the hosts, and he was then found again by Elliott.

He skipped round Brunt but the keeper brought him down for a stonewall penalty.

Jordan stepped up and buried it to complete his hat-trick.

Kennedy pulled off a fantastic save late on to deny a consolation goal for Parkgate, Adam Johnson’s header producing a great reflex save from the keeper.
