The 26-year-old was runner-up in this year’s I’m A Celebrity and also performed on the X Factor on a Saturday night on ITV.

A statement on the club’s website said: “The chairman would like to announce that the club are currently in discussions with Jake Quickenden’s agent with regards to signing him.”

Quickenden began his football career as a youth player at Scunthorpe United and went on to play for Frickley Athletic in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League.

The forward recently played for Bottesford Town in the Tool Station Northern Counties East Football League.
