Appointed in April, replacing then-manager Kyle Jordan, Parry had to wait until July to fully begin in the Sandy Lane dugout.

The former Pontefract Collieries manager promised goals, and with 31 scored in 12 games, he has certainly stuck to his word.

After an intense pre-season, Parry won his opening competitive fixture, a 2-1 victory away at Anstey Nomads, which saw Luke Hinsley and Vaughan Redford notch debut goals for the Tigers before a virtuoso display from one-capped Polish international goalkeeper Sebastian Malkowski made sure of their progression into the next round.

Worksop began the league season in emphatic style, beating Loughborough Dynamo 6-2 at Sandy Lane, with Redford grabbing the headlines with his four-goal performance.

A 140-mile trip to Westfields FC followed in the FA Cup second qualifying round, and despite going behind early on, Parry’s side came out 3-1 winners in Hereford.

Redford’s bright start to the campaign continued as he scored a brace a week later in a 3-0 victory over Wisbech Town, taking his tally up to eight goals in just four games to end a successful September period.

They then faced a meeting with National League North side Chester FC in a thrilling contest.

The Tigers went two goals to the good thanks to a header from Oscar Radford and a long-ranged drive from Jack Broadhead, however, Danny Livesey’s late double took the game to penalties, which the Lions were victorious.

Worksop took their frustrations into the next game, with Glossop North End being on the end of a 5-1 battering before the Tigers came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with a strong Belper Town side.

Sutton Coldfield Town then handed Worksop their first league defeat of the season with a 4-2 victory in North Nottinghamshire before the Tigers began their FA Trophy journey with a thrilling 4-4 stalemate against Ramsbottom United, with Worksop winning on spot-kicks.

A goalless draw with Stamford followed before Worksop got back to winning ways in the league with a 2-0 victory over Spalding United, leaving them in sixth place.

October ended with a horrific 6-1 loss in the FA Trophy against St Neots Town on Halloween before the second national lockdown halted the campaign.
