Housham signs Grimsby keeper

STEVE Housham has resolved his goalkeeping crisis with the loan signing of Grimsby Town’s Kenny Arthur.

The Scottish stopper, 32, arrives at the club in the wake of injuries to Andrew Pettinger and Phil Barnes.

Housham told the Standard: “We’ve got Kenny in for a month.”

“We’ve been chasing around all over the place this week, but I think lots of clubs are having a goalkeeper crisis.”

Arthur has previously featured for Partick Thistle, Accrington Stanley and Rochdale.

The Trinity boss was at Sandy Lane last night watching Worksop Town beat Rushall Olympic in the Evo-Stik Premier, with Blues left-back Owain Warlow in action for Worksop.

Housham confirmed that Warlow’s loan stay with the Tigers will go on a little longer.

“I think we’re going to give him another month on loan at Worksop as he’s missed a few games with them playing in the FA Trophy.”

“The door’s not closed for Owain at Gainsborough, and we’ll need him around the Christmas period.”

“He did well when I watched him last night and his fitness looks a bit better, but he still needs games.”
