Homecoming for Blues

Gainsborough Trinity return to Conference North action on the Northolme for the first time in five weeks, when they host Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday.

And hot on the heels of their ‘homecoming’ is the derby clash with Boston United on Tuesday night.

The Blues are looking to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointing trip to Workington, where they lost 4-2.

But Bradford Park Avenue will present a tricky test.

Although they were beaten 1-0 by Harrogate in their latest outing, it was one of only two defeats in their last 10 games.

They’ve picked up wins over Gloucester, Guiseley and Boston United in that time.

Tuesday’s visitors the Pilgrims meanwhile, also lost their latest fixture, a 3-2 defeat by Brackley Town.

And it was Brackley who inflicted Boston’s only loss in October, with two wins and a draw completing the month’s fixtures.

Boston will be missing full-back Netan Sansara, who was red-carded for serious foul play during the closing stages of their 3-3 draw with Harrogate Town recently.

In the FA Trophy, Trinity have been drawn away at Leamington on 16th November.

The club are hoping to appoint a football administrator in the coming weeks, after 14 people applied for the position.

And three leading ideas for a club mascot have emerged, with popular suggestions including a viking, a duck and a swan.
