Hindley bemoans '˜reckless' attitude in eight-goal thriller

Mitch Husbands opened the scoring on 14 minutes with a scruffy finish from close range following a free-kick, the lead was soon doubled through an own goal 10 minutes later.

Just three minutes after that it was former Tiger Rhys Davies who skipped into the box and executed a lovely finish with the outside of his foot to pull a goal back.

The first half ended 2-1 and Micah Bishop put Worksop 3-1 up after the hour mark.

A goal from Liversedge’s Walton made it 3-2 before substitute Ash Burbeary scored a fabulous volley with his first touch to seemingly win the game for the home side with seven minutes remaining.

But a powerful Davies penalty with four minutes to go made it 4-3 and after several minutes of stoppage time Walton bagged his second and Liversedge’s equaliser to tie the game up.

After the game Manager Ryan Hindley was left frustrated with his sides recklessness.

He said: “We’ve been moaning recently about not scoring enough goals but today we’ve scored four and could of probably had 44.

“We’ve defended really well the last two games but got caught out today by pace really, the most frustrating thing for me is being 4-2 up and trying to get a fifth by having the wind in our sails, really we should be shutting up shop and we’ve been reckless today with our game management.”

The players fell to their knees after the late equaliser and Hindley was asked how dejected the dressing room was afterwards.

“Yes they’re disappointed. Disappointed that it’s not a penalty for them, they know they should have taken their chances and know they should have defended better.

“I felt that with the experience we had on the field today we should have been able to see the game out and win it comfortably, credit though to Liversedge they never stopped for 90 minutes and I’m sure it was a great game for the neutral. Lots of positives for me to take and we are playing better I just don’t know what I need to do to get a win at the moment.”

The Tigers did make a better start than we’ve seen lately by getting two early goals.”

“That was our approach,” he said.

“We needed to start right and come out the traps flying. We’ve got to get better though, I never feel comfortable when we are in the lead, we’ve dropped two points today by being a little bit too gung-ho and we need to learn our lessons.”
