Heart scare for Trinity goal hero

Jonathan D’Laryea received a glowing tribute from his manager Steve Housham after the Blues midfielder scored in last Saturday’s victory over Nuneaton – just 24 hours after being rushed into hospital suffering from a heart complaint.

The former Manchester City youth scored with a speculative effort to put Trinity 3-0 ahead on the Northolme, but after the game Housham revealed it was a difficult decision to even select him for the game.

“I’m delighted for JD because he’s had some problems over the last few days and it was touch and go whether he would be starting,” said the Blues manager.

“He had a few heart problems on Thursday after training and got rushed into hospital in the early hours of Friday morning with a few complications with his heart rate.”

“It just puts life into perspective when that sort of things happens. He’s one of our fittest lads and they had to put him to sleep in the end to stop his heart and start it again.”

“We’re just pleased for JD that he got Man of the Match and a goal and I was delighted for him.”

D’Laryea has been an ever present in Trinity’s side this season since former boss Brian Little signed the 26-year-old from rivals Eastwood Town last summer.
