Georgian Under 17 star signs for Town

A GEORGIAN Under 17 international made his debut for Dinnington Town on Saturday, and capped a fine performance with a goal.

Dachi Khutsishvili, who has moved to live in Barnsley, starred in Town’s 2-0 FA Vase win over Grimsby Borough, delighting manager Steve Toyne.

He said: “He was excellent on his debut, he worked really hard. Brilliant, for 17 years of age.”

The youngster then ran himself into the ground during Tuesday’s defeat by Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.

The manager added: “He was full of confidence and he was all over the pitch.”

“The lad was back helping the full-backs and he was shattered so I took him off.”

“When you’ve got the club’s leading goalscorer Daniel McKenzie on the bench you think he’s coming to come on and cause them problems, so I made the switch.”

“But I think I made a mistake in taking Dachi off.”

Khutsishvili’s father Davit is the founder of Barnsley International FC, and the youngster has previously played in the youth ranks of Dynamo FC and Locomotive FC in Tbilisi.
