Free entry to Retford United friendly clash tonight

Retford United take on Brodsworth Welfare at home tonight in a friendly, with free entry for supporters.

The Badgers were left without a game on Saturday, when their NCLE Premier Division clash was postponed due to a water logged pitch.

Interim manager Rich Williams has added to the ranks in the past week, signing centre-forward Aaron Richards from local rivals Worksop Town and defender Matt Thornton to add youth and enthusiasm.

Centre-half Craig Leight has also joined, bringing height and experience to the back line.

Williams said: “With so many new faces at the club the Brodsworth friendly gives all the lads a chance to get to know each other and gel as a team.”

“With two very big games in our relegation battle coming up in the next 10 days every competitive minute counts to ensure we’re firing on all cylinders.”

Entry will be free and the bar and snack bar will be open.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm and will give Badgers fans the chance to see some of the new players in action ahead of the weekend’s crunch clash at Liversedge FC.
