Former Worksop Town boss ready for fresh challenge

Jordan was relieved of his duties, along with assistant manager James Kay, as part of new owner Pete Whitehead’s plans to take the club ‘to the next level.’

He was followed out the door by a number of players less than 24 hours later, including Matt Sykes, Max Pemberton, Steven Wankiewicz, Connor Brunt, Steven Wooley and Lynton Karkach.

And Jordan feel the management pair, and players, have a lot to offer and revealed he has already attracted interest from club’s in the NCEL.

“We are hoping to get a job somewhere else, the phone has been going mad since the announcement was made,” he said.

“The general consensus amongst all the boys is that we all want to stay together.

“It is a team that has been able to compete and consolidate at Northern Premier League level, but it is also the team that won the NCEL Premier Division.

“The boys are really keen to stick together, there have been a few clubs who have been in touch already about the possibility of doing that.

“A few clubs have been in touch, so I don’t think we will be short of options.

“We are now all about looking for somewhere now where we can get some stability for ourselves off the pitch and ending the turmoil.

“Our priority is finding someone that will take care of us. I don’t know anythng, and it is none of my business, but I imagine there will be a sizeable influx of players going into Worksop and that will make a lot of my boys surplus to requirements.

“We have had some unbelievable times at Worksop and we want to keep the team together.

“It is a proud team who plays football for all the right reasons.

“It is about being part of a winning team and not money and we will be an attractive proposition.

“We won the NCEL Premier with a brilliant record. NCEL is probably our level if we are going to be realistic and there are a lot of clubs in the league that have got off field stability and are struggling on it, where we have been the opposite.

“We have been doing well on the pitch, but have had off-field turmoil. There is a perfect fit to be made somewhere, we’ve just got to find it.”
