Former Worksop Town boss Simon Clark is back in non-league management after five years coaching at Football League clubs.

Clark was unveiled as the new King’s Lynn Town manager earlier today.

The Linnets will play in the Southern League central division next season.

The former Peterborough United defender arrived at Sandy Lane in October 2011, during Jason Clark’s ownership era.

Worksop finished 15th in the Northern Premier League in his first season and improved the following year, taking ninth spot albit nine points outside the play-offs.

Both Clark and his assistant Dave Frecklington resigned at the end of the 2012/13 campaign.

Since then, Clark has worked in the professional game in what he calls ‘five years of learning.’

He rose through the ranks at Charlton Athletic, coaching the 15 and 16-year-olds, the 18s, 23s and eventually the first team, working alongside three different managers.

In May 2017 he moved to Notts County and took charge of the Under 18s, as well as working with the 23s.
