Former Tiger Suarez in intensive care after head clash

FORMER Worksop Town striker Mikel Suarez is in intensive care nearly a week after being hospitalised following a clash of heads in Tonbridge Angels’ game against Farnborough.

The Bilbao-born forward, who made 17 appearances for Tigers in the 2010/11 season, was injured in a clash with team-mate Lee Browning during the Blue Square South game on Saturday.

Suarez, 26, is reportedly still in a medically induced coma, and his parents have flown to the UK from Spain.

“We all send Mikel our best wishes for a quick and speedy recovery.”
