FOOTBALL RUMOURS: Ronaldo return? Manchester United trail Leeds youngster, Inter star for Bournemouth?

Here are today’s football transfer rumours . . .

Manchester United, Paris St-Germain and Major League Soccer will battle to sign Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of the season with the 30-year-old Portugal forward unhappy with his treatment at the Bernabeu. (Le10 Sport).

Manchester United are plotting a sensational swoop on Leeds for rising star Charlie Taylor. United boss Louis van Gaal has sent his scouts to watch the 21-year-old defender in action several times and is considering a bid. (Daily Star).

Alessandro Cannataro has joined Premier League new boys Bournemouth on a one-year deal, according to Sky sources. The former Inter Milan midfielder was out of contract having left the San Siro in the summer and will join the Cherries ahead of this week’s Premier League clash at home to Sunderland. (Sky Sports).

Valencia have overtaken Leicester City in the race for Sporting Lisbon star Andre Carrillo. The winger was the subject of a bid from the Foxes on transfer deadline day but negotiations collapsed in the final hours. The 24-year-old is now expected to leave next summer on a free, when his contract is due to expire. But, according to O Jogo, it is Valencia and not Leicester who currently lead the chase for Carrillo’s signature. (talkSPORT).

Thorgan Hazard is ready to show Chelsea what they are missing - just like Kevin de Bruyne. Hazard left the Blues this summer and joined Borussia Mönchengladbach for £6m after three difficult years at Stamford Bridge. The 22-year-old failed to make a single first-team appearance but is hoping his move to Germany will see him follow in the footsteps of another Chelsea exile, De Bruyne. (talkSPORT).

Manchester United have confirmed Luke Shaw has had surgery on the broken leg he sustained in the Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven. Shaw suffered a double fracture of his right leg in the 2-1 defeat at the Philips Stadion when Héctor Moreno challenged him in the PSV area. The 20-year-old required oxygen before being taken to hospital in Eindhoven. He underwent an operation on Tuesday night on what medical staff described as a clean break, with his recovery time estimated at six months. (Guardian).
