FOOTBALL RUMOURS: Price for Mansfield Town? Bale staying with Real and Clement to be new Derby County boss?

Rumours are growing that Lewis Price is set to be the new number one goalkeeper at Mansfield Town next season.

Welsh international Price (30) impressed at the One Call Stadium while on loan from Premier League Crystal Palace at the end of the 2013/14 season and last week was told his contract would not be renewed after three years at Selhurst Park.

Her spent much of last season out on loan at League One Crawley Town, but was unable to halt their slide back into League Two.

Nottingham-born Rotherham United keeper Scott Loach is another rumoured to be interesting Mansfield.

Former Stags keeper Kevin Pilkington is also a name mentioned for a return, but boss Adam Murray has said that Pilkington is ‘good at his job, but he has one at Notts County’.

Another rumour was that Stags were looking at South Normanton-born winger Lee Holmes. But Exeter City look to be in the verge of signing him after a successful loan spell there from Preston North End.

Ex Stags-star Craig Disley has signed for another year at Grimsby Town just a few days after the heartbreak of the Conference play-off final defeat at Wembley.

Stags continue to hope their former winger Sam Clucas earns a big money move from neighbours Chesterfield. The Spireites are still hanging onto him, but bids are said to be coming in and, with a sell-on clause in the deal, Mansfield stand to earn a nice pre-season windfall if he goes.

Is Real Madrid assistant manager Paul Clement about to replace sacked Steve McLaren as Derby County manager? The former Chelsea coach was number two to Carlo Ancelotti, who was sacked this week, and is said to be considering taking up his first managerial role.
