Five star Kivvo fifth after beating Main men

CENTRAL MIDLANDS LEAGUE

Kiveton Park FC 5

Yorkshire Main FC 1

A FIVE-STAR performance from Bob Poad’s Kiveton Town side put them fifth in the league table.

Kiveton started the game in confident mood following back to back league victories and controlled play from the first minute, but squandered chances to open the scoring.

In the 25th minute Carl Longmore threaded a through ball for veteran striker Robbie Gorman to run clear, round the keeper and pass the ball into the net.

Five minutes later Daniel Stewart found the ball at his feet in the Main penalty box, he wrong footed a defender before sending the keeper the wrong way to make it 2-0.

Main were awarded a penalty in the 60th minute when Daniel Harrison challenged the away striker Craig Dyson, but Jonny Parker dived to his left and saved well.

On 65 minutes the away side were reduced to 10 men when their central midfielder was sent off for foul and abusive language.

Park took advantage as the forwards linked up again in the 73rd minute, Longmore passing to Gorman who finished low and hard to the keeper’s right.

In the 80th minute Daniel Harrison headed in at the far post to make it 4-0.

Gorman then found Jack Poad just outside the box, he cut inside and curled his shot round a defender and the keeper to make it five.

In the 85th minute Craig Dyson scored for Yorkshire Main from the penalty spot after Harrison was alleged to have fouled.
