Saturday, 3pm, FA Vase first round proper: Long Eaton United v Worksop Town.

Tigers’ second and final chance of a national cup run comes in the FA Vase on Saturday, when they visit Midland League Premier Division outfit Long Eaton United.

The Derbyshire side are in great form this season, and sit top of their league table by six points.

Going into Saturday’s Vase encounter they carry a six-match winning streak, and are yet to taste defeat in league action.

Their one defeat in the 2014/15 season came at Heanor Town in the FA Cup, and it was only a 1-0 loss at that.

Had it not been for a league reshuffle, Tigers could have found themselves up against Long Eaton United in NCEL Premier action this season, but the team who finished 11th last term were moved to the newly formed Midland League Premier.

Last season Long Eaton had a familiar face for Tigers fans in the ranks, in Jermain Palmer, but he now plays for Holbeach.

Worksop Town will have Jonathan Wafula, who was not involved last weekend, available for selection again.

The winners of the Vase first round proper tie will net £900 in prize money, with the second round scheduled for 22nd November.

Tigers could net over £40k if they win the Vase.
