Just 15 minutes remained when Shaun Roberts broke the deadlock, the visitors coming close to claiming a point as they hit the woodwork in the last minute.

Pinxton had a bad night at home to Swanwick, finishing with nine men as they went down 3-1. Guy Wilding gave the visitors a ninth minute lead, Jake Vernon levelling things on the half-hour.

Shane Buckerfield put Swanwick back in front midway through the second half, Wilding’s second in the last minute ensuring the points.

Clay Cross were quickly out of the blocks at Matlock Town Reserves, Jordan Hendley scoring after just 45 seconds.

Ryan Ordidge added a second on 10 minutes, and that’s how it stayed until five minutes from time when Oliver Walden pulled one back for the Gladiators.

The form book ruled on Wednesday night as Hucknall Town reclaimed second spot with a comprehensive seven goal defeat of bottom markers Southwell City.

Two goals from Niall Thompson and one each from Tom Crisp and Dave Leak gave Hucknall a comfortable half time lead, Hamilton completing his hat-trick and sub Adam Nelson adding two to complete the scoring.

The only game in the Black Dragon North Division saw Newark Town put on a rousing second half performance to pick up their second win of the season against Brodsworth Welfare.

After an even first half, Bradley Sykes scored a minute from the break to give Brodsworth the lead, but a three goal burst in a 13-minute spell from Luke Boddy, Sam Wilford and Danny Purves turned the game round, Tyler Martin scoring in the latter stages to give the Blues a 4-1 win.
