Duo take up Badgers roles

RETFORD United have appointed Richard Sennett and Mark Turner as their first team management for the new season.

The duo have spent three seasons at Winterton Rangers in the NCEL, finishing in the top six every season and winning the President’s Cup.

A club statement said they were ideal candidates: “They both bring with them a wealth of experience at non-league level both also having managed Brodsworth Welfare, with Sennett having a spell at Rossington Main as player manager and Turner managing Thorne Colliery and Hatfield Main winning the Central Midlands League in 2006/07.”

They bring FA qualified goalkeeping coach Craig Mellor, physio Laura Clarke and Liam Slack as player-coach.

The statement continued: “They are keen to work with the Committee and Football Club to regain stability and consolidate the work that has already been achieved as Retford United look forward to a more stable future.”

“They will be working on the pre-season schedule, for both training and matches in the coming weeks and further news will be announced as soon as things are confirmed.”
