The Harworth youngster, formerly with Gainsborough Trinity, signed for Worksop Town in the summer of 2011 but suffered a season-ending knee injury that required surgery.

Davies attempted to fight his way back into Worksop’s plans in pre-season last year, and was sent to Brigg to get match fitness – but was never recalled by then Tigers boss Simon Clark.

Having played over 30 games for the Evo-Stik First Division South outfit, Davies has agreed to sign for Tigers, under new boss Mark Shaw for the 2013/14 campaign.

Shaw told the Guardian: “Josh has agreed terms to rejoin the club, despite interest from other teams in our division.”

Davies is the third player to commit to Shaw’s plans, after strikers Leon Mettam and Tom Denton agreed terms yesterday.
