The combative player has joined Northern Counties East League Premier Division side Yorkshire Amateur.

Amateur currently sit third in the standings as they chase one of three automatic promotion places.

It is a division Patterson knows well having captained Tigers to an NCEL league and cup double last season.

He left Worksop on the eve of the start of the season after refusing to come on as a substitute in an FA Cup tie to Melton Town.

But returned weeks later under former Worksop boss Craig Denton just days before he resigned from his managerial post.

Patterson leaves having made 69 appearances.
