Clark buzzing about Beeson

WORKSOP Town have captured the services of a goal-scoring winger from Corby Town.

Lee Beeson has moved to Sandy Lane from the Conference North side until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old played for Tigers boss Simon Clark at Samford, and is highly rated by the manager.

Clark said: “He’s played regularly in the Conference North this year and he will be an excellent addition.”

“He’s someone we wanted to bring in for a transfer fee, but we’ve got away with doing a loan deal.”

“He’s penetrative, he scores goals from the wing and he works very, very hard.”

Beeson is happy with the move, to a ground he’s never played on, and has set himself a goalscoring target.

“I’m a wide player, I like to play on the touchline and I like to link up with the strikers and put good balls into the box.”

“I was top scorer at Stamford the last two years and I I get 10 before the end of the season I’ll be happy.”

He’s unable to play in next Tuesday’s FA Trophy tie at home to Newport after appearing for Stamford in the competition.
