The triumph was set up by Saturday’s 2-2 draw with title rivals Bridlington.

At Cannon Park, Thackley were dispatched by three second half goals after Badgers had missed a plethora of chances before the break.

But just 60 seconds after the interval Karl Slack challenged the keeper and Warren Hatfield find the net to spark celebraions in the 388-strong crowd.

Carl Haslam made it 2-0 in 74 minutes, breaking free to go on and beat the keeper to all but secure the victory.

“A huge thank you to the players, officials and supporters for their hard work and support throughout the year, topped off with a trophy.”
