Boys host Leeds B side on Northolme

PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Gainsborough Boys 2 Leeds B 4

THANKS to Trinity, Gainsborough Boys were able to welcome Leeds to the Northolme.

Leeds were in control in the early exchanges and Bradley Hill and Bradley Hardy tracked back well to help out the defence.

As Gainsborough came more into the game Bradley Ronis was tormenting Leeds down the right.

But Leeds latched on to a mistake and took the lead mid way through the half.

Gainsborough responded and after more good work by Ronis the ball was rolled accross the edge of the area for Luke Crossley to hit a powerful drive in off the bar.

Leeds took the lead again just before half-time.

Gainsborough started the second half brightly, Adam Orton and Archie Clayton enjoying their tussles with the Leeds danger men on the wings.

The hosts actually started to dominate in midfield, Luke Crossley winning the ball well and driving forward.

Unfortunately Gainsborough were unable to convert numerous chances while Leeds were ruthless in front of goal and scored again to take a two goal advantage.

Ronis brought it back to 3-2 with a great solo effort but, as Gainsborough pressed for a well deserved equaliser Leeds broke away again to score once more.

The game was refereed by Jimmy Snee and the boys were able to round off the day by providing hospitality for the visitors at the Supporters Club.

Trinity 9 Babworth 2

AFTER a shaky start Trinity seem to have found a vein of form and are now unbeaten in three.

Top scorer Elliot Vasalo was unstoppable on the day, knocking four past Babworth.

Captain Luke Crossley added two to the tally, with Corin Helgesson, Martin Lake and Jack Harker getting on the scoresheet to give Trinity their biggest victory of the season so far.

Stand in keeper Zac Puvis gave a fine performance.

Gainsborough Trinity 9

Midtown 1

TRINITY were back in action this weekend after a three week break against old rivals Midtown in the Jack Kalson Divisional Cup.

Trinity dominated the first half and found an early lead when a cross from Corey Drummond found the head of Ben Wray.

Drummond added a hat-trick, to give the home team a 4-0 lead before Spencer Hare and Brandon Scrimshaw scored before the break.

The second half saw the introduction of Aaron Smith, James Caldwell and Joel Swain.

Midtown started the second stronger than the first and kept the scoreline down until Scrimshaw found the back of the net again, and Kai Benson and Joel Swain added a further two.

Midtown persisted and were awarded with a late goal.

Thank you to Gainsborough Trinity team sponsor Fosco on Site Services, for their continued support.
