An “All-Star” performance by Trinity kids

TRINITY All-stars visited Marshalls and maintained their unbeaten run with some very impressive football on and off the ball.

On seven minutes the opening goal came to Trinity with a fine through ball from Bradley Hardy to find Thomas Dunderdale and he slotted the ball into the corner of the net.

Soon after Trinity scored their second goal with a corner from Owen Forrest which Dunderdale headed home and the pressure continued from Trinity with Neil East smashing the ball against the bar.

The third goal came from James Green, goal number four was a great solo effort by Hardy, another solo effort came from Dunderdale and just before half-time Trinity scored again from a well delivered corner for Dunderdale to fire home his fourth goal of the game and make the interval score Marshalls 0 Trinity 6.

Trinity scored their seventh straight from the kick-off with a diving header from Hardy from a corner, Dunderdale netted again, James Green hit the net for goal number nine and soon afterwards Dunderdale picked up the ball and, finding the keeper off his line, chipped the ball over him for his fifth.

Jack Parsons and Owen Forrest again linked up very well with some fine runs and solid defending.

Other goals came from Green (two), Hardy (two) and Dunderdale.

Stand-in keeper Dan Rawlins also had a good game keeping the home side at bay with some fine saves throughout.

Messingham Juniors U13s 4

AFTER last week’s stunning opening match victory over local rivals Marshalls, Trinity kept up their 100 per cent record with victory over Messingham.

After a tight first few minutes Trinity went ahead when Tom Williams pounced on a through ball to score past the oncoming keeper.

But Messingham were soon on level terms with a shot from the edge of the area that found the corner of the net.

Trinity regained the lead straight from the kick-off when Williams again finished off a lovely passing move, and moments later he got his hat-trick with another smart finish.

Last week’s five-goal hero Jack McMenemy then got on the scoresheet when he grabbed a hat-trick before half-time.

In the second half Trinity looked a shadow of the team that controlled so much of the game before the break and were punished three times, with Messingham playing much the better football and controlling the game in most areas.

Trinity did however score three more times themselves with two more for Williams and one more for McMenemy.

Before the game started a minute’s silence was observed for the loss of one of the Messingham player’s parents who sadly passed away last week.

TRINITY were at home to last years divisional winners and local rivals Messingham Juniors in what promised to be their hardest test to date.

The hosts pressed Messingham from the start and went in front with an early goal from striker Brandon Scrimshaw.

There was also some fantastic defending from their back four of centre backs Cieron Jenkins and Aaron Smith with full-backs Craig Andrews and James Caldwell.

Messingham were given very few chances, with Jake Gardner playing the sweeper’s role to perfection and they could just not find a way through.

Scrimshaw added another to his tally to put Trinity 2-0 up at half-time.

The second half saw the introduction of Corey Drummond and Mathew Dowell who teamed up with centre half Mark Raisborough who was excellent throughout,

Messingham were given very few chances, but when they were given time and managed to find space they were met by a very on-form Trinity keeper Tristen Boswell who put in one of his best performances to date.

After some fantastic link-up play Scrimshaw found the back of the Messinghams net again, giving him a well deserved hat-trick.

This game was played in great spirit and was truly a fantastic advertisement for local football.
