Firbeck got back to winning ways with their first win in a month against local rivals Whitwell.

Whitwell won the toss on a damp green wicket and elected to bowl.

Greg Searston (3 for 48) removed numbers one and three without bothering the scorers, putting Firbeck firmly on the back foot.

However A. Dutton (105*) and some good partnerships from J. Hubball (25) and Chris Tindle (18).

Tom Barker (53) smashed the ball around the park towards the end of the innings to leave Firbeck 210 for 6.

In reply Whitwell Carl Curran (51) batted well and along with some mid-order partnerships, and the performances of Brandon Pritchard (20) and Greg Searston (17) set the game up.

However Firbeck’s bowling and the conditions proved too much.

James Hubball (2 for 20), Alex Needham (2 for 26), Nathan Parry (2 for 27) and Chris Tindle (4 for 31, including a hat-trick) did the damage for Firbeck.

Dan Sayles (42) offered stiff resistance and scored quickly, but could not find partners and Whitwell capitulated quickly after he was removed by Tindle, to leave the visitors all out for 158.

In the Championship, Worksop had a winning draw at Glapwell.

Bernhard Beukman (34) and Andrew Stoneman (32) top scored in an innings of 166 all out, before Beukman (3 for 24) restricted Glapwell to 112 for 6.

In Division Six, Rockware beat Aston Hall by 20 runs.
