Falcons are playing the generation game

PARENTS and kids alike put on some highly competitive games for the public and a Badminton England representative as Worksop Falcons held their annual ‘generations tournament’.

The club’s junior members played alongside parents and guardians in the event, which tied into the Bassetlaw Games campaign. The Bassetlaw Torch was on show, Team GB themed cakes were on sale and this season’s trophies were handed out in a presentation after the tournament.

It has been a successful season for the club, with the Under 15s and Under 17s boys teams winning their respective Notts Leagues without losing a game.

And the season’s finale on 16th June saw more than 40 family partnerships in action, with Rod Tyler from Badminton England watching on. The winners of each group, playing with their respective partners, were as follows: Under 11s Harrison Wright, Under 13s Nathan Langley, Under 15s Bailey Hurt, Under 17s Boys Jordan Miller and Under 17s Girls Rachael Allen. Players’ Player of the Season awards were also dished out to the Under 15s and Under 17s: Under 15s Girl Nicole Wheatley, Under 15s Boy Jordan Miller, Under 17s Girl Catherine Elliot and Under 17s Boy Matt Wagstaff.
