Eight finish in the top 10

WALESBY Forest proved to be a successful event for Bassetlaw’s orienteers last Sunday.

With almost 300 competitors attending from all over the Midlands the event was popular and competitive.

All of the courses were fast and involved many control points.

Bassetlaw’s results were very promising with eight members finishing in the top 10 of their race.

Special mention to Alice Carley, Sue Evans and Amy Evans for doing so well in their first real competition.

Bassetlaw results

White Course: George Carley 1st, Sue Evans 2nd, Amy Evans 4th, Tom Cooley 6th, Alice Carley 8th.

Yellow Course: Fraser Ridgway 4th.

Orange Course: Alexander Ridgway 8th, Cameron Ridgway 25th

Green Course: Helen Parkinson 18th, Jess Beresford 43rd, Oonah Ridgway 44th.

Blue Course: Will Parkinson 7th, Andrew Ridgway 22nd, Robert Parkinson 23rd.

The next local event is on Sunday 8th January, at Bevercotes Pit Wood.
